What's new in Nowadays

An assistant for search, and restaurants

8 updates

Roo helps you search for hotels, a cost estimator prices out trips, restaurants can be booked through Nowadays, and contract review suggests edits based on your own clauses.

Opening Roo from hotel search with ⌘J
  • Roo, your hotel search assistant

Ask Roo questions while you search for hotels and attach documents for it to read. Search shows the list and map side by side, covers several destinations on one map, and flags citywide events and travel advisories.

  • AI contract review

Review a hotel contract with suggestions shown inline, accept or comment on each one from a single sidebar, and download the result as a Word file. Choose which clauses the review checks, or start from a standard set.

  • Restaurant search and booking

Search restaurants for group dinners, save a shared shortlist and send a request from the restaurant's page. See which restaurants your organization booked before, with notes from colleagues.

  • Cost estimator

Estimate what a trip will cost using live airfares, city-adjusted meal and meeting space costs, and your preferred airlines. Save estimates, export them to CSV or slides, or ask the built-in assistant about them.

  • Inbox for venue conversations

One inbox brings all your venue emails together as one conversation per venue. Message a venue from anywhere you see it, and review a negotiation email before it goes to the hotel.

  • Close out sourcing

Mark the venue you booked and close out the rest with a polite note in one step. A map shows every proposal's venue together, and a guided flow walks you through requesting a contract.

  • Page tours and a clearer sidebar

Short tours on each page replace the old tutorial carousel. The sidebar follows your event's five stages, and you choose which notifications you get, including in Slack.

  • Registration updates

Guests can add the schedule to Apple Calendar as well as Google Calendar, and password-protected pages can also require an invited email. Each check-in can post to a Slack channel.

Contracts, and a faster way around

8 updates

Request, review and sign hotel contracts inside Nowadays, jump anywhere with ⌘K, and find gaps in a quote before you agree to it.

Finding a proposal by venue name with ⌘K
  • Contracts inside Nowadays

Request a contract from your proposals, review and redline it, and sign it without leaving the app. Your home page shows which stage each contract is at, and anyone can check a signed contract on a public verify page.

  • ⌘K command palette

Press ⌘K to jump to any event, page or proposal, or search proposals by venue name. If the palette can't find what you need, it hands your question to chat.

  • Quotes that point out what's missing

Proposals flag where a quote doesn't match what you asked for, mark prices that changed in negotiation, and list what each venue still owes you. A table view compares proposals row by row.

  • Send RFPs to several hotels at once

Select several hotels in search and send them all an RFP in one step. Choose the event name venues see, and filter by meeting space capacity and setup style.

  • Event changes reach your hotels

Edits to your event details save in one batch, and hotels that already have your RFP are told what changed. Removing a location cancels its open RFPs for you.

  • A portal for hotels

Hotels follow a link from their RFP email to their own portal, where they submit a quote and keep the conversation going. You can reply to a hotel directly from the event you're sourcing.

  • Rebuilt form builder

Edit forms on a canvas, organize sections, set up branching logic with a flow map, preview the form and publish when it's ready. The responses dashboard was redesigned too.

  • Multi-step landing page buttons

A landing page button can take guests through up to five steps in a row. Sections can have their own background colors and images, with dividers and spacers between them.

A new way to start an event

8 updates

A rebuilt create-event flow and sidebar, more than one offer per venue, negotiation emails drafted for you, and check-in tools ready for event day.

Proposal cards for London venues, each with its quote total and a Negotiate button.
Proposals waiting for review, each one a click from negotiation
  • Rebuilt create-event wizard

Creating an event takes you through a clearer set of steps, including room counts for your general session. The sidebar changes with what you're working on and switches events in one click.

  • Multiple offers per venue

When a venue sends more than one offer, flip through them side by side instead of seeing only the newest. Fees and taxes show as both a percentage and an amount.

  • Negotiation emails drafted for you

Choose the concessions you want and Nowadays drafts the negotiation email to the hotel. Export your negotiation details as a slide deck when you need sign-off.

  • Barcode check-in

Attendees get a barcode in their email and you scan it at the door. Seat and hotel details can be merged into those emails.

  • Smarter forms and emails

Add rich text sections to forms, show a different confirmation depending on someone's answers, and use answers as variables in emails. Build a feedback form straight from your schedule.

  • Activity sign-up limits

Cap how many activities each person can join per day and stop sign-ups for activities that clash.

  • Hotel booking links on landing pages

Create hotel booking links before a venue is confirmed and add them to your landing page as a button, with custom button colors and banner heights.

  • Export wizard

Pick exactly which columns you want when exporting rooming lists, form responses and reports, as CSV or Excel.

Registration that runs itself

8 updates

Forms now chase non-responders and sync with Google Sheets and calendars, an AI builder drafts your landing page, and every event sits on one calendar.

Every event across your company on one calendar
  • AI landing page builder

Describe the page you want and the assistant builds it, then edit it by chatting. Copy landing pages and forms from one event to another instead of starting over.

  • Reminders, payments and access rules on forms

Reminders go out to anyone who hasn't responded, each with its own email. Collect payments on a form and choose which types of respondent can open it.

  • Google Sheets and attendee sync

Keep your invite list in sync with a Google Sheet and pick the email new invitees get. Form responses add people to your attendee list automatically.

  • Shared calendar invites

Sync your event to a shared Google Calendar so attendees always have the latest schedule, with a custom invite email and header image.

  • Events calendar and duplicate event

See all your events on a calendar, duplicate an event to start a new one, and cancel or restore an event when plans change. Shared notes give your team one place to write things down.

  • Event space search and better filters

A new tab searches event spaces as well as hotels, and hotel search gained more filters and sort options.

  • See what venues are told

Proposals show the emails sent to each venue for you. Hotels you decline or shortlist get a decision email automatically.

  • Venue panel in chat

Venues the chat assistant mentions open in a side panel next to the conversation, and its behind-the-scenes steps fold away so the answer is easy to read.

Shortlists, sign-ups and check-in

8 updates

Save venues to a shortlist as you go, and give attendees more control over registration, activities and check-in.

  • Manage proposals

Decline a proposal or bring it back later, and filter proposals in clearer tabs.

  • Start a search from your office

Search suggests your office locations as starting points, pins your origin on the map, and zooms to fit the area you pick.

  • A guided new-event setup

Creating an event starts with your budget, suggests locations, checks your room needs, and takes you straight to venue search when you're done.

  • Activity sign-ups attendees control

Attendees can bring a guest, change their own sign-ups, and join invite-only activities. You can text everyone signed up for an activity.

  • Mobile check-in and QR passes

Attendees get a QR pass on their phone, and staff check them in from a phone at the door.

  • Richer forms

More field types, multi-page forms, questions that only show when they apply, and forms limited to people from your company.

  • Private events and company sign-in

New events are private to their creator by default. Teammates join your organization from their email domain, and your company can require single sign-on.

Restaurants, packages, payments

8 updates

  • A faster search bar and Our picks

Search by location and dates from one bar, refine with filter pills, and start from a carousel of recommended venues. Hide any venue you don't want to see again.

  • Payments and budgets
